Micro-D Classic
The classic 83513 micro-d style has been around for over 50 years. Min-e-con has refined this product for use in down hole applications.
Features:
Contact: The Min-e-Con proprietary pin contact uses a dual cantilever design. The 3 “wings” on the pin are compressed as they enter the tube socket. The result is 360 degrees of pin to socket contact for the entire length of the socket. This type of design allows the system to maintain proper contact in high shock and vibration applications. As an added benefit the low insertion force of the contact system makes them easy to mate and unmate as well as allowing a high number of mating cycles – 2000.
Insulator: High Temp Ryton: is molded into the shell and will stay properly captivated within the shell regardless of shock vibration or temperature cycling.
Shell: T6016 Aluminum with your choice of finishes. For downhole applications we recommend the Hard Coat Black Anodized finish (B) for its strength, corrosion resistance and lack of magnetism.
High Temp Epoxy: Min-E-Con’s proprietary high temp epoxy has been specially formulated to be strong enough to backpot the insulator and strain relive wires while still being able to backpot a connector without air pockets and voids that result in field failures.
Super Seal: Min-E-Con Super Seal ™ technology adds a secondary moisture barrier between the high temp epoxy and connector insulator. This moisture barrier is a proprietary hydrophobic material that actively repels moisture including high pressure steam. This added sealing is particularly useful in down hole applications where tools are exposed to moisture or humidity during assembly and service.
